GTR CFTC/Canada/SEC (NoA): Production and Testing Environments Overview

Production Environment

Use the Production environment to report trades for submission to the regulators. Trades reported in this environment are validated and stored in the trade repository for reporting to regulators.

Testing Environments

  • Use the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment to test submissions against the validations to ensure that the Trade information you are submitting meets the requirements of the Production environment. The UAT environment is typically used to test upcoming release changes, or any internal process changes you have made. It has no impact on actual reporting activity.
  • Use the Global Industry Tools Simulator component to help verify that trade data submissions can pass validation. The Simulator applies the same data formatting checks as the GTR UAT and Production environments but does not check against existing data sources in the same way as in the UAT or Production environments. The Global Industry Tools Simulator processes enable identification and correction failures prior to submitting data in the Production environment.

Notes

  • The UAT environment enables higher volume submissions and performs checks against other data held in the GTR service, thereby revealing more errors than the Global Industry Tools Simulator component
  • The Global Industry Tools Simulator component is faster than UAT and good for XML.
