Most Frequently Asked Questions

Click on “Customize Dashboard” on the top of any dashboard page. You can select which one of the three dashboards, Distributions, Redemptions, or Reorganizations, you want as your home page – the first page you will see when you log into the system. You can also select the sections you wish to see on your dashboards, and even which line items within each section. For example, if you submit instructions for Distributions, you may choose to see Instructions and not Allocations or other sections. Within Instructions, you may choose to see Foreign Tax and Foreign Currency and not Opt-Out Dividend Reinvestment or other line items. You can move the location of the sections on your screen depending on what you deem most relevant, and you can also select the number of cutoff days in the future for which you want to see information. You can deposit non-securitized paper financial assets through the Sealed Envelope Service.  These include, but are not limited to: wills, deeds, contracts, letters of credit, option agreements, and annuities.  DTC will not accept and safe keep tangible assets such as gold, coins or jewelry.  We assign a special DTC User CUSIP that identifies the item as a sealed envelope so that you can balance with us.

ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, is a worldwide federation of the national standards institutes of 159 countries. It is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards.

ISO 20022 is a standard that provides the financial industry with a common language to capture business transactions and associated message flows. It will initially co-exist with and ultimately replace the previous ISO standard, ISO 15022. The ISO 20022 format was released in March 2010 and represents a milestone on the path to simplifying the effort required for the announcement and processing of corporate actions. Unlike ISO 15022, ISO 20022 is a business-model-based standard process for the development of messages for the international financial services industry that can support different messaging syntaxes, including XML.

DTC is implementing ISO 20022 for corporate actions messages in order to communicate announcements, receive elections, and send payments messages with participants and clients.
