ALERT: Search and Maintain Accounts
Use this page to search for, create, copy, delete, and rename accounts. You must have read/write permissions to access this page. All users can view account details on the Utilities > Accounts View page.
Searching for and Opening Accounts
In addition to the global quick search functionality available from the page header, you can perform more detailed searches on the accounts page. Select from two available search methods in the Search For field:
Accounts - by Access Code
- Enter a full or partial access code in the Access Code field, or leave it blank to return all valid access codes.
Click Search.
ALERT returns a list of all matching accounts. ALERT displays the account short name, settlement model name and owner, the date and time of last update to the account. You can click column headers to sort the list accordingly. You can use the navigation links to scroll through the list.
Click a link in the Access Code column to open the account's general account information.

Accounts - By Settlement Model - By Country - By Security
Use this search to filter the list of accounts returned by specific criteria related to a model, a country, or a security.
- Enter an acronym in the Settlement Instruction Controller field.
- Select a filter option to search for your accounts by model, by country, or by security.
- Click Search to return a list of accounts containing your search criteria.
You can click column headers to sort the list and use the navigation links to scroll through the list.
- Click a link in the Access Code column to open the account's general account information.
Creating Accounts
- Click Create New Account.
- Define general account information.
- Define settlement instructions.
- Define confirm delivery instructions.
- Assign broker access.
Maintaining Accounts
Select the check boxes of the accounts you want to copy, delete, or rename. To select all accounts in the list, click the top-level check box. You can only select on check box when copying an account.

You can copy existing accounts unless your ALERT acronym requires Data Authentication. The copied account includes any existing future effective settlement instructions. |
To Copy an Account:
- Use search functionality to display a list of accounts.
- Select the check box next to the account you want to copy.
- Click Copy.
- Define the account:
- name
- access code
- short name (optional)
- Click Copy.
ALERT lists the newly created account on the Account List page.
To Delete an Account:
- Use the search functionality to display a list of accounts.
- Select the check boxes next to one or more accounts, or select the top-level check box to select all accounts.
- Click Delete.
A confirmation dialog lists the account access code and account short name for each selected account.
- Click Yes to delete the accounts.
If ALERT requires Data Authentication, it sends the deleted accounts through the data authorization process.
- Click Yes to delete the accounts.
To Rename an Account Access Code
- Use the search functionality to display a list of accounts.
- Select the check boxes next to one or more accounts, or select the top-level check box to select all accounts.
- Click Rename.
A dialog lists the account access code and short name for each selected account.
- Enter a new access code in the New Access Code field.
- Click Save to rename the accounts.
If ALERT requires Data Authentication, it sends the renamed accounts through the data authorization process.
- If validation messages prompt you, repeat the renaming process to correct any errors.
