Global Industry Tools Simulator: Rule Definition
The Rule Definition screen displays the submission ingestion rules for the selected jurisdiction.

Global Industry tools is available to multiple jurisdictions. The details of this screen vary slightly depending on the jurisdiction because they depend on the backend rules of each jurisdiction. This screen is shown for reference only. |
Data Segregation
Depending on the selected jurisdiction, this screen may segregate the data into two tabs:
- Formatting Rules: displays the text or position rules for the selected jurisdiction.
- Validation Rules: displays the conditional rules, such as field parameters and field valuation rules, for the selected jurisdiction.
Click the icons to expand, collapse, and print the visible/expanded content on this page.
You can view the entire Rules Definition data for a jurisdiction.
- Select the jurisdiction from the Input screen
- From Rule Definition screen, view or download the Rules Definition library for that jurisdiction.
- To change the Rules Definition to another jurisdiction:
- Click to the Input screen.
- Select the desired jurisdiction.
- Return to the Rule Definition tab to view the rules for the newly selected jurisdiction.

It is not necessary to submit a trade for simulation to view the Rules Definition library. You can use this library as a standalone resource for a jurisdiction's Formatting and Validation rules and for NACK error codes. |
When accessing the Rule Definition tab from a Results - Field Level link, the navigation breadcrumbs links displayed above the jurisdiction dropdown can be used to return to a previous screen in the simulation workflow.

The Serial No in the breadcrumbs navigation refers to the trade number from the selected trade in the Results - Trade Level screen. Serial No. 1 refers to simulated trade 1, Serial No 2 refers to trade 2, and so on. |
