Global Industry Tools Simulator: Rule Definition
The Rule Definition screen displays the submission ingestion rules for the selected jurisdiction.
The Rules Definition screen has two tabs
- Formatting Rules: displays the text or position rules for the selected jurisdiction.
- Validation Rules: displays the conditional rules, such as field parameters and field valuation rules, for the selected jurisdiction.
Click the icons to expand, collapse, and print the visible/expanded content on this page.
You can view the entire Rules Definition data for a jurisdiction.
- Select the jurisdiction from the Input screen
- From Rule Definition screen, view or download the Rules Definition library for that jurisdiction.
- To change the Rules Definition to another jurisdiction:
Click to the Input screen.
- Select the desired jurisdiction.
- Return to the Rule Definition tab. The Rules displayed are now for the newly selected jurisdiction.
Note |
It is not necessary to submit a trade for simulation to view the Rules Definition library. You can use this library as a standalone resource for a jurisdiction's Formatting and Validation rules and for NACK error codes. |
When accessing the Rule Definition tab from a Results - Field Level link, navigation breadcrumbs display above the jurisdiction dropdown.
Use the breadcrumb links to return to a previous screen in the simulation workflow.
Note |
The Serial No. in the breadcrumbs navigation refers to the trade number from the selected trade in the Results - Trade Level screen. Serial No. 1 refers to simulated trade 1, Serial No 2 refers to trade 2, and so forth. |
