Option Asset Extension Record

To add an option asset to an ACATS transfer, the submitter populates the required fields on the asset transfer (AT) option asset extension record. When the submitter includes the option asset extension record, ACATS performs an edit to ensure that both the receiving and delivering firms are set-up for the settlement location 35–OCC in the ACATS PARTICIPANT MASTER file and that the option is a valid asset on the OCC Open Interest file, which ACATS receives daily. If the transfer does not meet the condition of both participants being eligible for OCC and the option is in the Open Interest file, ACATS assigns settlement location 30–Undeliverable. If both participants are eligible for OCC and the option is not in the Open Interest file, ACATS rejects the asset.
