Asset Quantity Request Indicator
The Asset Quantity Request Indicator is valid only for either a partial transfer receiver (PTR) or position transfer fund (PTF) where the submitting firm is acting as the receiver on the transfer. This indicator tells the delivering firm whether the receiver requested the full account position for this asset or an exact amount to transfer. This is necessary because the receiver's client may want an entire position moved for an asset and not have the most current information about actual quantities, such as when a dividend has been posted after the last statement was sent to the customer. The indicator allows the receiver to indicate the joint customer’s intent.
For partial positions, the exact amount to transfer is indicated in the asset Quantity field (for share based assets) or Amount field (for cash balances, not valid for PTF).
The Asset Quantity Request Indicator field is not applicable for insurance assets the settling location 60–IPS, since insurance assets cannot have a PTR or PTF transfer type.
If a firm the receiver of a PTF request with F–Full Position in the Asset Quantity Request Indicator field, the Asset Quantity field in the ACATS Multicycle Transaction (M) and ACATS End of Day (E) files is populated with zeros, and the Asset Quantity field in the ACATS End of Day Position MRO (P) and ACATS Settlement (S) files is populated with spaces.

|
The transaction appears in the ACATS Settlement (S) file only if the fund company acknowledges the transfer registration. |
