ALERT: AKAS Overview

ALERT Key Auto Select (AKAS) functionality allows for enrichment of CTM trades with preferred SSIs for broker/dealers and investment managers. AKAS enables enrichment of SSIs without requiring ALERT key field (Country, Security, and Method) population on inbound transactions to CTM. It uses trade information to derive country and security type for a transaction and determine the default depository. Settlements for each security type and geography are made into and out of a single preferred depository for each account.

With AKAS, clients no longer run the risk of overly long settlement cycles caused by misinformation from one or both parties to a trade. Instead, AKAS uses a rules-based approach to select a default depository. In addition, clients can override the standard default choices as needed.

For more information refer to the ALERT Key Auto Select (AKAS) Implementation Guide.
